💡 Floor Naming Nuance: In the UK, street level is the ground floor and the next floor up is the first floor. In the US, street level is the first floor.

| House vs Home | House is the physical building (“a big brick house”). Home is where you live emotionally (“I am going home” – no preposition ‘to’). |
| Roof vs Ceiling | Roof is the outside top covering. Ceiling is the inside overhead surface of a room. |
| Floor vs Ground | Floor is what you walk on inside a room. Ground is the outdoor earth surface. |
3 Tier 3 – Top 3 Common Learner Pitfalls
– Rule: Do not use to before home with verbs of movement (go home, come home, drive home).
– Rule: Use floor inside a building and ground outdoors.
– Rule: Roof is on the outside; ceiling is on the inside.
