About Grammar for Kids
Grammar for Kids is a step-by-step course for young learners, designed by teachers who work with children every day. The curriculum moves in small, confident steps – starting with the verb “to be”, articles and plurals, through pronouns, adjectives and prepositions, up to the present continuous and the past simple. Each lesson mixes short explanations with colourful interactive exercises: click, drag, type, and get a smiley-face score straight away. A second level with more advanced topics is being added lesson by lesson.
How to use it with your child
One lesson per sitting is plenty – fifteen to twenty minutes keeps it fun. Let your child read the examples aloud; hearing the grammar is half the learning at this age. If they miss questions, don’t re-explain immediately: have them try the exercise again first, because self-correction builds far stronger memory. Coming back to a finished lesson a week later for a quick replay is the best revision there is.
What age is this for?
Most children aged 6–11 can follow the course. Younger children may need a parent to read instructions with them; older kids can work through lessons independently. The course pairs well with our Cambridge Starters, Movers and Flyers practice tests – the grammar covered here is exactly what those exams expect.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Every lesson is free and works instantly in the browser. Progress is remembered on your device, so your child can continue where they left off.
