How our vocabulary courses work

Vocabulary on All English 4U is learned the way words stick best: a small set of related words first, with pictures and example sentences, then plenty of practice with instant feedback. Every unit is interactive – you type or choose your answers on the page, press Check, and see instantly which answers were right. Nothing to install, no account to create.

Choose your level

Vocabulary in Practice 1 – 30 beginner units that teach your first 300 words: the body, clothes, family, food, daily life and more. Books 2–6 – elementary to upper-intermediate, opening here step by step. IELTS Vocabulary – topic word lists, collocations and exam practice for band 5.0–8.5. All practice material is original interactive content by All English 4U, following the classic Vocabulary in Practice (Cambridge University Press) syllabus.

Study tips from our teachers

Learn words in small groups of five to ten, say each word out loud, and come back to the same unit two or three days later – spaced review is what moves words into long-term memory. Always learn a word inside a sentence, not alone. Five minutes a day beats one long session a week.

Where should I start?
