About Starters Dictation

These 30 dictation lessons are written for young learners at the Cambridge Pre-A1 Starters level. Each lesson uses a short passage about everyday topics – home, school, animals, food – read aloud slowly and clearly on video.

Dictation trains listening and spelling at the same time: because you must write every word, it catches exactly what your ear misses. Start with fill-in-the-blanks, then challenge yourself with the type-what-you-hear mode.
