IELTS Dictation 1 – Names, Numbers & Addresses

Listening + Writing details · 30 questions · Parts A–D · AEn4U voice (British)

About this dictation exercise: IELTS names, numbers & addresses

This free IELTS dictation exercise trains the exact skills tested in IELTS Listening Part 1: catching spelled names, phone numbers, addresses and postcodes in a form-completion conversation. Every recording uses clear British voices, just like the real test.

Watch out for the star questions – they contain a correction, exactly like the distractors IELTS loves: the speaker gives one detail, then changes it. Train your ear to wait for the final answer, not the first number you hear. Double letters (“double T”), “oh” for zero, and -teen/-ty endings (17 vs 70) are the classic traps.

Listen to the whole sentence first, then type. Replay as many times as you need at normal or 0.75× speed, and always check your spelling before you press Check my answers – in IELTS, a misspelled name scores zero.
