Learning guide
Level: A1 Movers.
Topic: A Week at Willow Miniature Railway.
Learning objectives
- Identify children helping in a railway garden from clues about clothes, actions and positions.
- Listen for a spelled family name, age, room number, an item to bring and a finish time on an art-club form.
- Connect five activities with the days when Lucy did them last week.
- Follow a complete conversation and choose the confirmed answer from three pictures.
- Locate objects, follow colour instructions and write a spelled word for the station sign.
Before you start: Be familiar with everyday actions, clothes, colours, days of the week, simple place words, number words and letter names. Look at each picture and read the form before listening.
Teacher tip: Give learners time to compare the pictures. Ask them to find each object before choosing its colour, and to listen until a corrected detail is confirmed.
Listening strategy: Hear the whole clue, including corrections. Check spelling and numbers, connect each day with an activity, and use position words such as above, under and beside. Hear the scored conversations twice, then submit or open Show Answer to review the clues.
