Transcript — Part 1
Woman: Ben, can you bring the toolbox on Saturday?
Man: I can, but my red toolbox is very heavy. I'll bring the blue bicycle pump instead. The watering can can stay here.
Narrator: Question one. What does Mia want to repair?
Man: Is your table lamp broken, Mia?
Woman: No, it works well. My wooden chair has a loose leg, so I'll take that to the repair table. My toy boat is fine.
Narrator: Question two. What is Leo going to bring to share?
Woman: Are you bringing your football, Leo?
Man: Not this time. I'll leave the football at home and bring my board game. I can't find the kite.
Narrator: Question three. Which food is Nora making?
Man: I thought you were making cheese sandwiches, Nora.
Woman: I was, but the hall has a kitchen and lots of carrots. I'll make carrot soup. My apple cakes are for the school party next week.
Narrator: Question four. What will Sam use to mend the bag?
Woman: Will you need scissors to mend that bag, Sam?
Man: No, it needs sewing. I'll use a needle and thread. I don't need my paintbrush or scissors.
Narrator: Question five. What is Ella going to swap?
Man: Are those green boots for the swap table, Ella?
Woman: No, they still fit. I'm taking my small orange backpack because I need a larger one for my books. The purple coat is my brother's.
PART 2 · QUESTIONS 6–10
Match people to tasks
Listen to a conversation about five volunteers. Match each person with a task, A to H. H is the example. For questions 6-10 use five different letters; three letters will not be used.
Example: What will Omar do?
Answer: H
6. Priya
7. Ben
8. Grace
9. Noah
10. Lily
Transcript — Part 2
Woman: Can we check the jobs for Saturday? Omar has already agreed to arrange the chairs in the meeting room.
Man: Yes, that's right. Priya wanted to greet people, but Ben has offered to do that. Priya will put labels on the shared books instead.
Woman: Good, so Ben will welcome visitors at the door. Will Grace carry the boxes from the van?
Man: The boxes are already inside. Grace asked to help in the kitchen. She'll wash and sort the donated cups, now that the sink is free.
Woman: We need photographs of the repaired things. Is Lily bringing a camera?
Man: Noah is bringing his camera. He'll take the photographs. Lily has a toy-repair kit and will show the children how to mend toys.
Woman: Lovely. I've already made the signs for the garden table, so we don't need a volunteer for that.

Where are they meeting?

Transcript — Part 3
Woman: The library said no, and the sports centre is busy. Riverside Community Centre has given us its main hall.
Man: Great. So we are meeting at the community centre.
Woman: The poster says the event starts at half past nine, doesn't it?
Man: We changed it. Volunteers need time to set up, so it begins at ten o'clock. Not half past ten; people can arrive from quarter to ten.
Woman: What are you bringing to repair, Alex?
Man: A small radio. The sound is fine and I've put in a new battery. The tuning button is broken, so I'll see if we can fix it.
Woman: Where will the repair tables go? The small kitchen is free.
Man: We need the kitchen for the food. The upstairs room is locked, too. Let's use the main hall for the tables.
Woman: I'll bring drinks. We have no coffee, but I've got plenty of tea. I'll bring tea and water. We don't have juice.
Man: How are you getting home? The bus stop is right outside.
Woman: I'll take the bus. What about you?
Man: I thought so too, but I can bring my bicycle. I'll cycle home after we finish. Walking with the radio might be difficult.

Learning review & listening guide
1. How to record your answers
There are 25 scored questions in five parts. Choose A, B or C in Parts 1 and 3. In Part 2, match each person to a task A-H. H is the example; three other letters are not needed for the five scored answers. In Parts 4 and 5 write one or two words or a number in each gap. You will hear every conversation or announcement twice. The examples are not scored.
2. Clue words & patterns
Read the questions before listening. Compare the pictures, then listen for the final choice. In matching, follow each name rather than the order of the task list. Before a form gap, decide whether you need a day, place, object, time or number. A correction can replace an earlier suggestion, but some answers are stated directly.
3. Watch out & common mistakes
Do not choose an option simply because its word is mentioned. Check what a speaker agrees to do and who will do it. For phone numbers, listen to every digit, including zero. Write only the missing part when the form already supplies a number prefix. Try the questions before opening transcripts or showing answers. Show Answer never fills a control or adds marks.

A A blue bicycle pump
B A yellow watering can
C A red toolbox
