Look at the picture. Listen and draw a line from each name to the correct child. Ben is the example. One name and one child are not used.

Narrator: Part One. Look at the picture. Listen and draw lines. There is one example.
Woman: Ben is by the gate. He has a navy cap and a yellow raincoat. He is checking the red-and-white windsock.
Narrator: Can you see the line? This is an example. Now you listen and draw lines.
Woman: Find Ruby. She has two red clips in her hair. She is holding a green kite up to the wind near the hill path.
Child Girl: I can see her by the path.
Woman: Look at Theo in his purple jumper. He is cutting a long paper tail at the big worktable.
Child Boy: He has the large scissors.
Woman: Amira has curly hair and orange glasses. She is painting a blue diamond on a white kite.
Child Girl: I can see the blue shape.
Woman: Finn is wearing a striped scarf. He is measuring a wooden kite frame with a ruler.
Child Boy: He is checking how long the frame is.
Woman: Now look for Zara. She has a green jacket and spotted boots. She is tying a yellow ribbon to a kite tail by the fence.
Child Girl: The ribbon is bright yellow.

Man: And what is your surname? Could you spell it for me?
Woman: Parker. That’s P-A-R-K-E-R.
Man: How many children will come with you? Is it three?
Woman: I thought it was three, but my nephew is coming too. So that’s four children.
Man: The workshop begins at ten o’clock. Will you be here then?
Woman: Ten is a little early for us. Could we start at quarter past ten instead?
Man: Certainly. Would you like Saturday or Sunday?
Woman: We can’t come on Saturday. Sunday would be lovely.
Man: Please meet us in the café by the entrance.
Woman: The note I received says to meet in the Windmill Room. Is that still right?
Man: Yes, you’re right. The café is being painted. Meet us in the Windmill Room.
Woman: Thank you. We’ll see you on Sunday.
What did each child make?
Read the objects A–H. Listen and choose the object each child finished making. There is one example.
Narrator: Part Three. Listen and write a letter in each box. There is one example.
Woman: Ella, what did you make at the workshop?
Child Girl: A yellow pinwheel. I folded the paper and pushed it onto a stick.
Narrator: The answer is D. Now you listen and write.
Woman: Oscar, what did you make?
Child Boy: A little wooden top. I can spin it on the table, but it doesn’t go on the floor very well.
Woman: Maya, what’s that in your hand?
Child Girl: It’s a paper fan. I wanted a red one, but I found orange paper. I gave it a handle.
Woman: Leo, did you make a kite?
Child Boy: No, I made a small boat. It is made of wood and painted green. It floats in the bowl of water.
Woman: Nina, what did you make for your beads?
Child Girl: A blue cloth bag. I sewed the sides together and made a little handle.
Woman: Sam, are you taking home the red kite?
Child Boy: I started the red one, but I didn’t like its short tail. I finished a purple kite with a much longer tail.
Listen and tick (✓) the box
Listen to the workshop conversations. Look at the pictures and tick the correct box. There is one example.
Narrator: Part Four. Listen and tick the box. There is one example.
Woman: Which kite will you take home, Alex?
Child Boy: I like the red one, but its tail is too short. I’ll take the yellow kite with the long tail.
Narrator: The answer is C. Now you listen and tick the box.
Woman: Which kite will you use first, Lucy?
Child Girl: The green one has a lovely star. Oh, its paper is a bit wet. I’ll use the orange kite with the blue stripe.
Woman: What are you putting in your pocket, Ben?
Child Boy: I found a silver key. No, that belongs in the tool box. I’ll take the small wooden whistle.
Woman: Shall we share an apple while we wait?
Child Girl: The apples are for the helpers. There are pears too, but let us share a banana.
Woman: Which string do you need for your kite, Amy?
Child Girl: The red string looks right, but it’s too short. The green string is long enough.
Woman: Which bottle are you taking, Alex?
Child Boy: My red bottle is empty. I will take the blue one.
Woman: What about the yellow one?
Child Boy: That belongs to my sister. The blue bottle is mine.
