A Experiences in your life

We use the present perfect for things that happened (or never happened) in a period up to now — we don’t say exactly when.

birth NOW “I’ve visited 3 countries” (some time in my life)
ever?neverbeforerecentlyso far

B Superlatives & “the first time”

It’s the best film I’ve ever seen.
1st It’s the first time I’ve been here.

C Unfinished time periods

With today, this morning, this week, this year (still continuing) we use the present perfect.

I’ve drunk three coffees today. (today isn’t over)
been to = visited: I’ve been to Rome.
📌
Remember — present perfect for experience (ever/never), superlatives (the best… I’ve ever…) and unfinished time (today, this week).
