Reading & Writing
We’re going home
Practise the Reading (Part 1) and Writing (Part 7) tasks from Unit 2 of Complete Key for Schools. Read six short messages and choose what each one means, then write your own short story from three pictures — with instant auto-grading and a model answer.
Short messages
You will read six short messages — text messages, emails, notices and adverts. For each question, choose the option (A, B or C) which means the same as the message. Two options are wrong and one is correct.
Write a story
In the A2 Key Writing test, Part 7 gives you three pictures that tell a story. You must write a short story of 35 words or more that shows what happens in the pictures. Write your story, then compare it with the model answer.

- Picture 1: Who is the boy? How old is he? Where is he going?
- Picture 2: Where is he now? What is he doing?
- Picture 3: Who can you see? What are they doing? How does the boy feel?
Model story — 35+ words, all three pictures
Tip: a good story uses past tenses (walked, opened, shouted), links the three pictures in order, and describes how the person feels at the end.
🎯 Finished?
