You will hear five short conversations. You will hear each conversation twice. There is one question for each conversation. For questions 1–5, choose the right answer (A, B or C).
This is the Key English Test, Paper 2 Listening, Test 2.

Q1 — What colour is Kathy’s bedroom now?
Kathy: Come and look at my bedroom. I’ve painted it.
Man: What colour this time, Kathy? Green?
Kathy: I decided to paint it blue.
Man: Oh well, that’s nicer than before. I hated those pink walls. (C)
Q2 — Which platform does the woman’s train leave from?
Woman: Which is the platform for the train to London?
Man: The fast train leaves from platform six at seven o’clock.
Woman: I want to go to Rugby — does it stop there?
Man: You need the slow train from platform two at seven ten. (A)
Q3 — How is Susan going to get to the airport?
Man: How are you going to go to the airport on Tuesday, Susan?
Susan: I’m going to take the coach. A taxi’s too expensive.
Man: There’s a train you can get. It’s very fast.

Anna: Well, my father’s tall with dark hair and my mother’s opposite. She’s shorter and blonde. Then there’s my brother.
Man: Is he older than you?

Man: Are you going to Kim’s birthday party? She’ll be sixteen in June.
Woman: Oh, yes. It’s on the eleventh, isn’t it?

Steve: Hi, Rose. Can you help me with my English homework?
Rose: Er, no, Steve. I’m very busy this morning. At nine o’clock I’m going to see the doctor. (example: 9.00 = E)
Rose: I go swimming every day now — just for one hour — so I’m going to do that at ten. (6 = H swim)
Steve: Well, can I meet you at eleven?
Rose: Sorry, I’ve got to see my maths teacher then. (7 = F see teacher)

Steve: At one o’clock?
Rose: I’m going to have lunch with Jo then. (9 = B have lunch)

Peter — learning to drive
Listen to Peter talking to a friend about learning to drive. For questions 11–15, choose A, B or C.
Friend: Peter, you’re learning to drive, aren’t you? Do you go to the AA Driving School?
Peter: Actually it’s called the ABC Driving School. (example: C)
Peter: It’s cost me a hundred and forty pounds already. I’ve had ten lessons and each one is fourteen pounds. (11 = A £14)
Friend: Is that for an hour?
Peter: Mm … less than that — about three quarters of an hour. (12 = B 45 min)
Friend: And is the teacher’s car new?
Peter: Yes, it’s not a big car so parking’s easy, but it doesn’t go very fast! (13 = A slow)
Peter: I failed the test last week. The traffic lights were red and I didn’t see them. (14 = C)
Peter: The teacher’s OK, but my father will give me my next lessons. He’s cheaper! (15 = A expensive)
