Use the simple present to talk about things we do regularly.

▸ I walk to school in the morning. · He drives to work. · We play soccer after school.

Make the negative form with do not / does not.

▸ I do not walk to school. · He does not drive to work.

Third-person singular (he, she, it) — change the verb:

Verb type Rule Examples
most verbs add -s likes, eats, sleeps, wears, reads
verbs ending in ch, sh, s, x, z add -es watches, washes, finishes
consonant + y remove y, add -ies worries, studies, hurries
vowel + y add -s plays, stays, buys, says
